30 Days of Innovation
The International CES is about innovation. The most important technologies launched at CES, including the VCR, DVD player, HDTVand satellite radio. Why does the average U.S. household have 24 consumer electronics (CE) products? Because they improve our lives, and in times like these, making life good – especially in our homes – is more important than ever. That's why this year we launched "30 Days of Innovation: The Countdown to CES," a window into the kind of technological innovation only found at CES. See 30 new CES exhibitors – a new one each day – from among more than 300 companies showing their innovation to CES attendees for the first time. But this is just the beginning. Imagine learning about next-gen technology from 2,700 of the world’s leading companies in one trip.

The company will be officially launching a consumer version of the technology, called AstoundStereo. Day 1 + 2
S1 Audio: Changing the Way You Hear Things
S1 Audio will demo some of the most unique audio products to be developed in years at the 2009 International CES. The first, called Bud-Bud, is essentially two earbuds in one. This means that splitters are no longer necessary to transfer from a mono phone conversation (one bud) to listening to music in stereo (two buds). Another version of Bud-Bud eliminates the common scene of two people sharing one pair of earbuds on trains, planes, etc. by quickly turning two earbuds into four. The second product, called NxSet, changes the way people listen to music by placing the sound source around the neck. This adds an element of style and sharability to portable music (a group of friends walking down the street can hear music from the same source), almost like the modern day boom-box! It also increases the safety element for joggers, skateboarders, etc. because they can still hear outside noises.
Check out these new innovative ways to listen in LVCC, Central Hall, Booth # 11717.

ZeeVee: Turning Computers Into an HDTV Channel
First-time exhibitor ZeeVee is introducing the ZvBox™ at the 2009 International CES in Las Vegas. The product turns your computer into a high-definition TV channel by “localcasting” over the existing coaxial wiring to all HDTVs in your home. Without cluttering the living room, watch Internet TV, browse the Web and view photos—all from your couch using the system’s ZvRemote, an integrated touchpad that controls the computer’s mouse and desktop interface from up to 150 feet away. The ZvBox uses what the company calls “ZvCast technology” to let viewers access and transmit any online content to all the HDTVs in their homes. The box connects to the monitor output of a computer producing a new high-definition TV channel that ZeeVee calls Zv. The signal is broadcast on an open TV channel across existing cable wiring where it can be tuned in by any connected HDTV in the home. The ZvBox differs from other methods for watching Internet video on TV because it offers subscription free content access, unaltered HD and SD resolution, and use of existing cable wiring to reach HDTVs without interference or the need for multiple set-top boxes.
ZeeVee’s Deborah Joubert said Zee Vee is the first to launch a product in this space. Apple TV and Netflix limit what you can stream. She said, “No one else does it the way we do. The attendees at CES will be interested in this type of product. It is geared for consumers and people who already use the Internet to watch movies and TV shows. Instead of huddling around the computer, you can see it on the big screen.” She added, “It’s the ultimate video on demand. It’s so awesome.”

It is the ultimate push-pull Internet device — you tell Chumby what information you want, and it finds it on the Internet automatically for you and updates itself constantly. Chumby can even become an Internet radio through Pandora. To keep itself fresh, Chumby has a Linux-based, open-source platform that is open to developers who want to improve the product with cool new widgets — exactly the kind of spirit of entrepreneurship that keeps our industry humming.
