CES Awards Programs: Go For The Gold!
by Dan Cole

We are just 120 days away and counting! The 2009 International CES is just around the corner and after Labor Day, companies typically focus their full energy and efforts on ensuring the success of their show participation.

If you’re like the rest of the world, you were most likely keeping an eye on the Olympics. My favorite part was watching the athletes who earn their spot on the medal stand. The pride these athletes feel and show is indescribable and inspiring at the same time. Whether an athlete is bringing home the gold, silver or bronze, those awards are the outward evidence of years of dedication, sacrifice and hard work. An achievement that brings positive recognition to both them and their country.

Are you aware that CES has several awards programs that can bring similar recognition to your company and its products or technologies? Whether you are a product designer or engineer, member of the press, or a maverick in the television and advanced media arena, CES has an award to recognize you.

Now in its 32nd year, the CES Innovations Design and Engineering Awards Program recognizes the pinnacle of innovation in the consumer electronics industry. With entrants from 34 different product categories representing the hottest technologies in the CE industry, the CES Innovations Awards have become the hallmark of the best designed products in consumer technology. The 2009 Best of Innovations honorees will be announced at the New York Press Preview on November 11, 2008, at the Metropolitan Pavilion and showcased at the 2009 International CES. Call for entries closes September 24. Make sure to visit to enter your product today.

CNET has been an outstanding CEA partner through the years and will continue to produce the Best of CES Awards program for 2009. The CNET Best of CES awards recognize the best new products at CES in 10 categories. The competition is judged by CNET’s esteemed editorial team and also includes a Best of Show and People’s choice award. Product entry review begins in September. To be notified when submissions open, please send your e-mail address to bestofces@cnet.com.

Do You Know Who the Official CES Vendors Are?

As a valued CES exhibitor, we wanted to take a moment to remind you of the official CES vendors, contractors and publications for the 2009 CES.

The International CES has gone through a rigorous process of picking the right vendors and contractors for the show. Only the companies shown on the list of official vendors and partners  are the official CES vendors; any claims to be official vendors by companies other than those listed are false.

While there are a number of publications out there covering the day-to-day events of the International CES, there are only a few "official" show publications that guide our attendees and exhibitors through their CES experience. These pieces include the Preshow Planner, Show Guide, Show Directory, CES Show Daily, CES Mobile Today, and The Engineer's Guide to CES.

These publications offer prime advertising space for companies like yours to reach more that 130,000 qualified consumer technology professionals, including executives, decision-makers, buyers, distributors, engineers and a variety of other key audiences. Please visit our Sponsorship page for more information.

The best way to stay informed of all official communications it to download the CES Alert tool to your desktop. Read more information now.

If you have any questions concerning our official CES vendors, partners and publications, please feel free to contact your sales representative for further clarification.
